The CLARESCO project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Objectives

Improving traffic safety and drivers’ comfort using innovative lighting technologies by analysing human perception and behaviour in terms of efficiency and comfort.
These objectives will be achieved through the use of real-time simulation tools.

Expected impacts

– Safety, ergonomics and comfort recommendations concerning adaptive lighting technologies for truck and car.
– Evaluation procedures and assessment methodologies.
– Dissemination of project results.

Project summary

The CLARESCO project aims at improving traffic safety and truck & car drivers ’ comfort during night-time driving.
This will be achieved by analysing human perception and behaviour in dynamic lighting situations using Adaptive Front-lighting Systems in specific traffic and environmental conditions. Those aims will be carried out through the use of innovative real-time simulation tools. Assessment procedures and evaluation methodologies that focus on safety and comfort will be developed.
